‘Kosmische Glass’ LP release

Timothy Didymus’s new studio album Kosmische Glass will be released on Beatabet Records on Friday 10th November. The album is comprised of eight tracks and will be availiable on digital and limited edition vinyl.

Foreword: Max Eastley, artwork: Robert Manners & Agata Urbaniak, + insert print design by Joshua Legallienne.Glass music recordings may occur periodically with orchestrations featuring hand-played musical glasses, yet titles primarily centred on glass as a means of sound production are notably few in number.

The project/object Kosmische Glass is a musical automaton and extraordinary new instrument, which resonates musical glasses spun by motorised turntables. Both visually striking and sonically mesmerising; a new progression to the story of musical glasses.

Shoot the moon…

Sometimes you try and fail, that’s life, what is left behind gracefully recedes into the distance.

In the autumn of 2015 Jules Arthur, Kassia Zermon and myself arranged a collaboration with Fishbar, a photographic gallery in Daulston, on the site of an old a fish ‘n’ chip shop. Towards the end of the session there was time to quickly document the shoot as Jules and Philipp Ebeling shone images of old photographic slides of the moon, through hand-held projectors, onto spinning musical glasses.

While the images we made that day didn’t quite work out for the project, we thought it would  be nice to share some of the ideas and images we made that day.
